Ayana McPherson is a Brooklyn, NY native, creative, entertainment attorney and event producer. Prior to her career as an attorney, Ayana was a professional dancer. She graduated from LaGuardia High School as a dance major in 2012 and from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor in 2016 with her Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) in dance. While she has an undeniable love for dance, upon graduation Ayana no longer wanted to pursue a dance career. She decided to pivot and take her love for dance to the business side at Clear Talent Group, a full-service talent agency. There she worked in the dance, TV/Film, choreography and young peoples departments. After two years, she went on to law school to study entertainment and intellectual property law with her greatest inspiration being her former colleagues and clients!

Ayana is currently an entertainment attorney in New York working primarily in TV/Film. While becoming an attorney is one of her greatest accomplishments, she often reflects on her journey to esquire. As a first-year law student, Ayana experienced much discomfort as she navigated the steep learning curve. It was in that discomfort that The Gem Jar was born. It became clear to her very early on that her new journey was more than just an academic one, it was a faith walk. While coming to terms with the fact that she had a lot to learn and personally overcome, she sought support through motivational and inspirational content. Ayana picked up what she calls, “gems” along the way that kept her going at a time where she needed to be lifted up the most.

Fast forward to today, Ayana has set out on a journey to help people vibrate higher through the mission of The Gem Jar. She hopes to uplift and inspire individuals in all walks of life as they journey through their own unique stories. With The Gem Jar, communities of individuals will help one another free themselves into purpose by being their truest and most authentic selves.
